Every site has an inherent sense of place within it. Because architecture and the relationship to site are critically important, how can design capture these inherent qualities while still challenging the context?

Catch sunlight. Cast shadow. Call attention.

Two 20-foot strips of ungalvanized steel were fastened to wooden supports on a balcony in the Cal Poly Architecture building. Five frosted polycarbonate sheets acted as lenses for sunlight to move across the space.
